Saw Mill student apartment provides 378 beds and has two kinds of rooms: En-Suite and Studio. Students who live in En-Suite usually have 6-9 roommates. Please take advantage of the Laundry Room, which makes washing a breeze, freeing up your time to focus more on your studies.

The student housing also has a study room with a dedicated space to enhance your academic prowess. Are you biking to class or around the city? Our Bike Storage facility ensures your bicycle is kept safe and secure. When it's time for a respite from your studies, our Courtyard offers an opportunity to stroll, commune with nature, or revel in the sunlight. For those seeking a bit of light recreation, our Pool Table is perfect for honing your skills while getting in a bit of exercise.

 

Location and What's Hot

Saw Mill has a superior geographical position, only about 10 minutes' walking distance from the University of Huddersfield and the student union, and the student association of the University of Huddersfield will hold regular activities throughout the school year. There is a Lido supermarket and an ASDA supermarket around the apartment. Walking takes about 5 minutes, and you can purchase products regularly. The nearest gym, DW Sports Fitness, can be walked for about 6 minutes. It's very convenient to go to the downtown area.

It only takes ten minutes to walk. There are many shops and banks. A minute's walk to the Kingsgate shopping centre, which includes clothing stores, sporting goods shops and restaurants. 

 

Transport

The nearest Wakefield Rd Smithy Lane and Wakefield Rd Sand Street are only a 3-minute walk from the Saw Mill accommodation. The Queensgate (stop Q3) is a mere 7-minute journey, ensuring convenient public transport. The Huddersfield train station is just a 4-minute drive away for students who prefer to travel by train. Various supermarkets are scattered nearby, with the closest being Asda Aspley Supermarket, only a 3-minute walk away, offering a pleasing shopping experience. The University of Huddersfield is ideally situated just an 8-minute journey away, while Kirklees College is just an 11-minute journey from the accommodation, providing students with easy transportation.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

if you don't get your visa to come and study in the UK, you must send us the visa application rejection letter within 72 hours of receiving it. This policy is valid until 1 August 2024.

No Place No Pay

if you fail to gain the required qualifications and are not accepted into the University, you need to send us the university rejection letter, or proof that the exam results don't meet the requirements of the university. You must send us the proof documents within 72 hours of receiving them. This policy is valid until 1 August 2024.

Details

Once you have paid your Advance Rent and you have been allocated a room, then
should you decide to cancel then the amount equal to the lesser of (i) the Advance
Rent and (ii) the amount equivalent to one week's Licence Fee is non-refundable.
If you have paid the Advance Rent and the licence agreement has been accepted by both parties then you will be held to the terms of the licence until a replacement
licensee is found.

Room Change Policy

If you'd like to change your room once you've moved in, we'll do our best to accommodate you (providing we're not fully booked). Any moves will incur a £50 admin fee*. If you've moved to a cheaper room, any excess rent you've already paid will be taken off the next instalment. If you've already paid for the whole year, we'll simply give you a refund of the difference.

Smoking Policy

if you' re caught smoking or tampering with smoke/fire detectors a charge may be applied to your account to cover call out charges of a fire engineer to check or repair the equipment. There are designated smoking areas at each of our developments which you are welcome to use.
