Raglan House is an excellent value-for-money student accommodation in Coventry, located near Coventry University and close to the city centre area, making it one of the ideal places for students to study and live. The flats offer two En-suite room types and one Studio room type to cater for a wide range of students. The apartments also host social events to help students settle into their new surroundings. Several restaurants and bars are near the flats and a Sainsbury's Local supermarket. Students can reach IntoUniversity Coventry, Coventry University and Coventry College within a 10-minute walk.

 

Features

Raglan House has a total of 212 beds. The apartment building offers two types of En-suite rooms with en-suite bathrooms, where 3~6 people share a kitchen and a living room, the best place for students to relax, have fun, and socialise and practise their spoken English.

 

Meanwhile, students who wish to have more private space can choose the Studio room type with a separate kitchen and toilet. All rooms have a comfortable double bed, a desk and a chair. You can decorate the room to make it feel more like home. The bathrooms are equipped with a shower, a sink, a mirror, a toilet, a towel rack and so on. In the kitchen, a fridge, microwave and hoover are provided. As you enter the flat reception, you will find a small common area with sofas, comfortable chairs, a TV and a free pool table.

 

The flat has free high-speed Wi-Fi covering all rooms and common areas. The rent paid includes water, electricity and broadband costs. Washing machines and dryers are available in the laundry room and can be used by students with a stored value card or by paying directly with a code. A bicycle storage area is provided in the flat.

 

Location and What's Hot? 

Less than an 8-minute walk from this student housing is Far Gosford St, a street with many restaurants, bars and supermarkets. On the west side of the road, you'll find Sainsbury's Local, while to the east, you'll find Chinese Kitchen and Pig in the Middle.

 

Coventry city centre is a 16-minute walk west of the flat. As the city's central business district, it also contains a wide range of entertainment and shops, and the Lower Precinct Shopping Centre offers a wide range of clothes shops, electrical outlets and games shops. To the west is the Odeon Cinema. If you are interested in museums and nature, the Herbert Art Gallery and Lady Herbert's Gardens are also within walking distance from the flat.

 

Transport

Raglan House Apartments are located in central Coventry with quick university access. It is a 6-minute walk to Into University Coventry. Coventry University and Coventry College can also be reached within a 10-minute walk. Oakwood College is a little further away and is a 15-minute bus ride or 21-minute walk. Oxford Business College - Coventry Campus is a 12-minute bus ride and a 15-minute walk. For travelling to other cities, Coventry Train Station is 19 min by bus.

 

Security & Services

The flats provide 24/7 security to ensure the safety of the residents' stay. The accommodation can also offer barrier-free facilities if students have special needs. In addition, feel free to contact the flat management team regarding any problems encountered during your stay. Your rental contract includes insurance, which means that the insurance company is responsible for any damage to items in the room. The common areas are also cleaned by the cleaning staff free of charge.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

No Visa No Pay (NVNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking has their visa application rejected, the student can provide evidence of the refusal and the booking will get cancelled with no liability.
b.For the evidence at 7(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.Students can only cancel under 7(a) above, and under the NVNP policy, if they have applied for a visa and can evidence this. Students who haven't got a visa because they haven't applied for one are not eligible for the NVNP cancellation policy.

No Place No Pay

No Place No Pay (NPNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking for a room is not accepted at a university in the city where they have booked a room with us, the student is able to cancel their room outside of the cooling-off period without the need for a replacement tenant provided they are able to provide evidence that they have not met the requirements for their offer or have been rejected by the university for some other reason.
b.For the evidence at 6(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.We reserve the right to check with the university if the evidence is genuine or fake. Providing fake / photoshopped documents is forgery and is an offense punishable by law in the UK.

Refund Guarantees Time Limit

3 days to accept the offer+ 7 days cooling-off period
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

Once these steps are done, the booking is completed.
If one of the step is not completed within these 3 days, the offer will expire.
If the student still wants a room, we can re-process a booking, but we cannot guarantee that the same room or the same price will be available.
Once the booking is completed, the student has another 7 days to change their mind and cancel their booking without any reasons. This is called the cooling-off period.

Details

Making a Booking
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

International cancellation provisions
These additional cancellation provisions apply for any individual making a booking outside of the United Kingdom.
1.Cooling Off Period – the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply;
2.After the Cooling Off Period - Once the Cooling Off Period has expired the Tenant remains liable for the rent for the whole length of the tenancy unless they want to cancel with one of these 3 conditions:
-No Place No Pay: the provisions for No Place No Pay set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply, save that this option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No Visa No Pay:if the student doesn’t get their visa to come and study in the UK, the student must send us the visa application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No ATAS certificate, No Pay: Some international students coming to the UK to study in very specific fields need to apply for an ATAS certificate. (Academic Technology Approval Scheme). If a student’s ATAS certificate application is rejected the student must send us the ATAS certificate application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
The cancellation requests along with the proof documents must be sent by the student, from the email address they have registered their account with Unite Students and must be sent to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
If an agent is involved the evidence must be sent to the agent and then forwarded on to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
3. Replacement Tenants - the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply. Please note the point that Unite Students is under no obligation to enter into a Tenancy Agreement with any replacement Tenant that is suggested under this provision.
Passed the 31st August, the No Place No Pay and No Visa No Pay do not apply.
The student remains liable for the rent unless they find a replacement Tenant.
