Severn Point is a cheap student accommodation in Cardiff offering cosy En-suite rooms for students on a budget. All rooms are provided with complementary furniture and appliances, and the communal areas have a good range of amenities to help students quickly settle into life in their new surroundings. The neighbourhood of the flats is ideal for students as a number of well-known UK supermarket chains and well-reviewed restaurants surround it. Being within walking distance of Cardiff University and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama makes this an even better choice.

 

Features

Severn Point offers 288 beds, all in En-suite rooms. The bedrooms are 15.4 m² and include basic furniture and living appliances, including tables, chairs, double beds, wardrobes, bookshelves and storage space, allowing students to move in quickly. In addition, residents are required to share the kitchen and living room with six roommates. As a natural social space, it is equipped with a TV and a sofa for all to relax in. On the other hand, the kitchen is equipped with appliances such as an oven, microwave, stovetop, and refrigerator to help students cook to their heart's content.

 

Severn Point Cardiff is committed to creating a comfortable and convenient environment for all students, with all facilities designed with the modern student in mind. The laundry room ensures everyone can focus on living and studying without leaving the flat. Study rooms provide a peaceful space where students can focus on their studies without distractions. If anyone is looking for a quick snack or refreshment, vending machines offer a variety of food and beverages around the clock. In addition, secure bicycle storage facilities are available to protect assets for those whose primary mode of transport is by bicycle.

Severn Point is located on Off Blackweir Terrace, near the scenic Blackweir Fields. Supermarket chains such as Lidl, Tesco and Sainsbury's are within a 10-minute walk from the flats, making it easy for students to replenish their daily essentials. Those who dislike cooking may want to fix their problems at critically acclaimed restaurants such as Tuk Tuk, YukiYan Sushi, and Corfu By Night. After a day of studying, why not unwind at pubs such as North Star, Blackweir Tavern and Bar 105.

Severn Point is located on the north side of Cardiff city centre, a 14-minute walk to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and 18 minutes to Cardiff University. The University of South Wales Cardiff Campus is a 22-minute bus ride away, while Cardiff Metropolitan University is a 20-minute bus ride west. When travelling to other cities, Cathays train station is a 15-minute walk away.

 

Security & Services

 

Severn Point student accommodation has a 24-video surveillance system covering the living area to ensure the safety of students and their property. A security officer at the reception desk is on duty 24 hours a day. Free WIFI is also available in the student housing and can be upgraded for a fee on request.

Cancellation Policy

No Visa No Pay

No Visa No Pay (NVNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking has their visa application rejected, the student can provide evidence of the refusal and the booking will get cancelled with no liability.
b.For the evidence at 7(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.Students can only cancel under 7(a) above, and under the NVNP policy, if they have applied for a visa and can evidence this. Students who haven't got a visa because they haven't applied for one are not eligible for the NVNP cancellation policy.

No Place No Pay

No Place No Pay (NPNP)
a.If the student who has completed their booking for a room is not accepted at a university in the city where they have booked a room with us, the student is able to cancel their room outside of the cooling-off period without the need for a replacement tenant provided they are able to provide evidence that they have not met the requirements for their offer or have been rejected by the university for some other reason.
b.For the evidence at 6(a) above to be valid it must:
i.be submitted within 7 days of the student receiving it;
ii.include the student's name and the date at which it was received;
iii.be received prior to 31 August of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in August or September;
iv.be received prior to 15 January of the Academic Year for those with tenancies starting in December or January.
c.We reserve the right to check with the university if the evidence is genuine or fake. Providing fake / photoshopped documents is forgery and is an offense punishable by law in the UK.

Refund Guarantees Time Limit

3 days to accept the offer+ 7 days cooling-off period
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

Once these steps are done, the booking is completed.
If one of the step is not completed within these 3 days, the offer will expire.
If the student still wants a room, we can re-process a booking, but we cannot guarantee that the same room or the same price will be available.
Once the booking is completed, the student has another 7 days to change their mind and cancel their booking without any reasons. This is called the cooling-off period.

Details

Making a Booking
Once a booking is processed, the student has 3 days to accept the offer. It means for the student and the guarantor to accept the contract and pay the £250 advance rent payment. (For bookings in England only. No Advance Rent Payment is required for bookings in Scotland).

International cancellation provisions
These additional cancellation provisions apply for any individual making a booking outside of the United Kingdom.
1.Cooling Off Period – the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply;
2.After the Cooling Off Period - Once the Cooling Off Period has expired the Tenant remains liable for the rent for the whole length of the tenancy unless they want to cancel with one of these 3 conditions:
-No Place No Pay: the provisions for No Place No Pay set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply, save that this option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No Visa No Pay:if the student doesn’t get their visa to come and study in the UK, the student must send us the visa application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
-No ATAS certificate, No Pay: Some international students coming to the UK to study in very specific fields need to apply for an ATAS certificate. (Academic Technology Approval Scheme). If a student’s ATAS certificate application is rejected the student must send us the ATAS certificate application rejection letter within 7 days of receiving it. On receipt of the required documentation, it will be verified and, provided we are satisfied, we will cancel your Tenancy Agreement and refund any deposit or advance rent paid in full. This option shall not be available after the 31st August in the year the Tenancy Start Date is due to occur.
The cancellation requests along with the proof documents must be sent by the student, from the email address they have registered their account with Unite Students and must be sent to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
If an agent is involved the evidence must be sent to the agent and then forwarded on to internationalcancellations@unitestudents.com.
3. Replacement Tenants - the provisions for the Cooling Off Period set out in the main Cancellation Policy shall apply. Please note the point that Unite Students is under no obligation to enter into a Tenancy Agreement with any replacement Tenant that is suggested under this provision.
Passed the 31st August, the No Place No Pay and No Visa No Pay do not apply.
The student remains liable for the rent unless they find a replacement Tenant.
