Yes, always consider the safety of the neighbourhood. Most student accommodations in Auckland are in safe areas, but it's always good to research and perhaps visit the area before making a decision.
Consider proximity to the university, access to public transport, Wi-Fi availability, laundry facilities, and nearby grocery stores or markets. These factors can significantly impact your daily life and studies.
This can vary greatly depending on the accommodation. Some places include utilities and Wi-Fi in the rent, while others do not. Be sure to clarify this before signing any agreement.
Yes, sharing accommodation with other students can be cost-effective and a great way to make new friends. Always ensure that your potential roommates are reliable and respectful of shared spaces.
In New Zealand, you have the right to a safe and habitable living space. You are also responsible for paying rent on time, keeping the property clean, and notifying your landlord of any damages or necessary repairs.
Personalizing your space can make a big difference. Bring photos, artwork, or other personal items that make you happy. You might also consider communal activities with roommates, like shared meals or movie nights.
If you're having issues, it's important to communicate with your landlord or the accommodation's management first. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can seek advice from community law services or the University's student support services.

This largely depends on personal preference and where your university is located. Popular areas include the CBD, Parnell, and Mt Eden.
Reach out to your university's financial aid office. They may have resources available or be able to guide you to external assistance.
This depends on the terms of your lease. It's generally possible but may incur additional costs.
